German Village is a historical neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio, just south of downtown. You can admire the beauty of the Scioto River which is longer than 231 miles. It is beautiful during all four seasons of the year. Although it’s close to Columbus, it’s closest to Schiller Park in German Village. It is a very nice place to relax and enjoy all the beauty that nature offers.

German Village has a beautiful historical neighborhood of brick streets and houses, which would make a beautiful scenery walk during all seasons of the year. Along your historical walk, you can also view St. Julie Billart Catholic Church, The Lane Public Library, and The Hamilton YMCA. There are a total of 177 buildings in the German Village Historic District.

Visit Schiller Park

During the 1800s, Schiller Park was used as a village center for community events. The most intriguing part of Schiller Park is The Umbrella Girl Fountain and its history. The addition of The Umbrella Girl Fountain was to enhance the beauty of the park.

Iconic 100% German Food

You will not want to miss, in my opinion, the best attraction in German Village. Schmidt’s 100% authentic German food is sure not to disappoint. They were established in 1886. They definitely have a very unique menu carrying all German cuisine from Schnitzel to Kraut.
